Hiroaki Koide: "Pressure Not To Release Radiation Data"

In the testimony in the Japan's Upper House Government Oversight Committee, Hiroaki Koide of Kyoto University said there was an outside pressure on him and his colleagues not to release the survey data including the radiation data on March 15.

He talks straight.

The committee hearing is still on-going. Access is still spotty.

Thanks for the updates, very enlightening! Well, maybe not, we might have expected the pressure not to release, but so nice to hear there are still some men with integrity.

Outside pressure from outside of Japan (gaiatsu)or from inside the government aimed at professors and scientists taking data?

@wren, the latter.

A horrible thing! Historically, the Soviet government hid the secret of Chernobyl. The whole world watched then with condemnation of concealing the truth.

And now such modern country like Japan is doing the same thing. Its hidding the truth from own citizens. They theat own nation like any other hostile stupid tribe.

I would be against the gov if I were a Japan citizen!

NHK World TV's Catherine Kobayashi has a first rate report on the failure to follow TEPCO's own procedure manual in regards to venting that reactor in the hours after the tsunami/quake. Its at their website.

When they finally tried to vent the reactor they couldn't open all the necessary valves so it would seem TEPCO had to know that the reactor pressure vessel was compromised long before they concluded there were holes in the bottom.

Russian Radio isn't a station what exact station reported this? A search for Boris Veltshen only returns the post you made here and one on enenews.com. A search for the body of the message doesn't turn up anything beyond echos either. I think the post is a hoax or someone misheard something I doubt it would be very hard to find more on the story hours after it broke.

IF you have been reading my past comments you may remember I spoke about little known sites of nuclear contamination here are a few more.

Maxy Flats Kentucky:

When the concrete burial trenches were full of radioactive waste, NEC capped them with dirt rather than concrete or steel. Due to rainfall in the area, the soil collapsed into the trenches and the trenches filled with water like a series of giant radioactive bathtubs. Because the water that filled the trenches became radioactive, it had to be disposed of. NEC installed an evaporator and disposed of about 6 million gallons of radioactive water as steam from 1973 to April 1986.

In 1973, the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources (KCHR) reported the detection of radionuclides outside the disposal trenches. In 1974, the U.S. Geological Society began collecting water-level and precipitation data to assess the basic hydrologic system at the Maxey Flats site. Three years later, commercial disposal operations at the facility ceased in December 1977 because of increased concern about the migration of radionuclides away from the site. Approximately 4.8 million cubic feet of low-level nuclear waste is buried at Maxey Flats according to the U.S. EPA.
